Day 2: Katoomba to Bathurst

Karin and I were excited to spend more time in Katoomba , but the weather wasn't on our side. As we woke up in the Blue Mountains, we encountered foggy and misty conditions that made it difficult to see the stunning views we had hoped to witness in Katoomba and it was cold.

So we decided that we would continue the trip west.

The drive to Bathurst was filled with stunning views of rolling hills, farmland, and quaint country towns. Along the way, we stopped at a few roadside cafes for snacks and refreshments, enjoying the friendly conversations with the locals.

When we arrived in Bathurst, we headed straight to the Mount Panorama Circuit, one of Australia's most iconic motorsport venues. I wanted to drive around the circuit, taking in the twists and turns and imagining what it must be like to race there. But alas , the track was closed for a special event over easter.

We stayed in the Showgrounds and spent the week here , working each day at the local library.

On our last day in Bathurst we met Keith with his new car. He had just purchased it in Melbourne and was taking it back home to Brisbane. So we managed to meet for coffee and lunch.

Now that we have been on the road for more than a year it is a treasured experience to catch up with friends.
