Last Day of EBC
Today was quite epic in the
distance we walked. ( At least for Nepal and this altitude)
About 20km walk, mostly downhill.
The weather changed quite a lot. We
started very cold and rugged up. but as we descended the air temperature got warmer,
I just kept removing clothing layers until I was down to just two layers.
The morning started with clear sky’s
but by the afternoon it was looking like we were going to get some bad weather.
In the last 1km the damp air turned
into a proper rain shower. This was the only rain we had experienced during the
whole hike.
The weather report was forecasting
snow for the next 3 days. This was bad as we wanted to fly the next day to
Kathmandu. Over the next 3 days we all had connecting flights out of Nepal and
if we could not get out of Lukla before the snowstorm we were likely to miss
our flights out of Nepal.
