COMET FROM THE START

We met our new home on Saturday 6th November 2021 at 10:53 am, and fell in love

This is what she looked inside, a little aged but we knew we could work with her. The size of the van was perfect. We loved the U-shaped dining/living area,  this could give us plenty of room for visitors and the large windows for the amazing views we are expecting on our adventure.

While doing our renovations we discovered a few hic-ups along the way but thankfully they look worse than they actually were.

Covering the laminated sink cover worked a treat

We did replace this fridge in the end

The fridge was also covered in contact but decided it was not a very reliable fridge so took it out of the van  in the end and replaced it with a better one.
All the internal doors, walls and cupboards have been changed from a grey to fresh white.
Our Ben made a large very useful drawer over the new fridge and some lovely finishing touches.
We decided to change the table with a more stylish and practical one, this one was way to big.

The floor was made up of these white wood look slats that have seen better days and we discovered some nice vinyl flooring underneath but the vinyl did not escape the removal of the white slats.

Removing the flooring was a difficult task, the main thing was trying to remove the very sticky glue off the floor ready for the new one. We tried many things but in the end bicarbonate soda worked to soak up the moisture in the glue and then a can of oil degreaser from Bunnings removed the rest. Plus I might add a lot of elbow grease

The step and new pine look floor came up a treat and finished off with the added tile stickers on the back side of the step. I found some nice white edging normally used for window frames to neaten off all the edges of the floor like a very small skirting. We are very pleased with the result.

This is the before and after look.
We are very happy and comfortable in our new home.
